About US
Jolesfield C.E. Primary School, is a voluntary controlled school funded by the West Sussex County Council. It was originally a Church of England charitable foundation. This is acknowledged by the appointment of the Rector of West Grinstead and two others as Foundation Governors, by the Church of England Diocese of Chichester.
We are in the village of Partridge Green in the county of West Sussex, about 10 miles south of Horsham and 18 miles away from Gatwick Airport.
The School was established on its old site facing Joles Farm in January 1873. It expanded gradually and moved in 1970 to its present site.
The school is funded by the Local Education Authority, West Sussex County Council, who delegate a budget to the Governing Body each year. The Governors, in consultation with the Headteacher, determine the budget for the school, based on a formula used for all schools in West Sussex. The budget funds staff, premises, day to day running costs and the purchase of books, equipment, goods and services.
